By a show of hands, how many of you at one point in time wished you could stay home and do workouts live with your gym fitness instructor via television? Well, although I can't see how many hands actually went up, I am sure that at least some of you have certainly not felt like hitting the gym after a long day at work and totally bypassed it on the way home.
Well, you're not without help because as interesting as it sounds, live fitness routines have been and are made available for individuals wanting to work out with their favorite instructors, but want to bypass the gym on a rainy day or on a day when they just weren't feeling well. Also, fall is right around the corner and the temperatures will be falling, which may also deter us from going to the gym and (consequently) cause us to put on those extra pounds for the Holidays (gasp!).
Since live video has become a tool of the future for social sharing of special events, behind-the-scenes tours, family gathering, and more, why not take advantage of this tool for a great workout routine?
Thankfully, there are some fitness instructors who have already begun using this tool for their clients, and today we're going to show you how you too can set up live fitness classes with our online booking system, and use Facebook Live for broadcasting your routines.
Let's jump right in!
1. Sign up for an account with us and set up your first class
Head on over to www.TimeTap.com to sign up with us (if you're just wanting to test our online schedule manager, you can try it free for 30 days). You'll be guided through a flow that will allow you to set up your class (for offering appointments by group). And once you've completed the flow, you can go to "Settings" > "Services & Classes" to see the class you've created:
*If you have services that you offer your clients as well, our online service scheduling software is also especially great for keeping track of those engagements too.
After you've completed the entire flow, let's go ahead and look at how to start a live broadcast with Facebook.
2. Install and Open the Facebook Mobile App
Whether you're an Android or Apple smartphone owner, you can install the Facebook mobile app. Once you've installed it, open the app and make sure that you're signed in (if you don't have a Facebook account, you can also sign up for one).
Using Facebook would be a great option if you have friends and clients who are followers, and you're active on this platform.
3. Preparing to Stream Your Fitness Routine Live
And now the icing on the on the cake: creating a live video for your fitness routine.
Under the live feed, you can click on the "Live" button and that will immediately take you to setting up your video.
*Quick tip - since you're creating a fitness routine, it would be very helpful to have a phone stand or some device to hold your phone in place for the during of the class depending on its length.
From here, you can add a description for your video.
And then, press the "Go Live" button. As a tip, while you're live ask your students to subscribe so that they'll get notifications when you're live. You can also find some more great tips through The Social Media Examiner's article "Facebook Live: What Marketers Need to Know" so that you can leverage your videos & gain more students for your class.
Once you're done press "Finish" and you can save your video to your camera roll so that you'll have a copy for yourself.
And it's as simple as that!
We hope this quick tutorial will be helpful this coming fall as you continue to have your fitness classes. It can be very helpful to spot trends and jump right on them so that you can become a leader especially in your area of work. Also, using our appointment manager to handle your busy schedule can provide a number of benefits to help you take a greater focus off of scheduling and it place it on growing your business.
Until next time, happy exercising! Like these tutorials? Let us know by sharing your thoughts below and reaching out to us on Facebook, Google Plus, LinkedIn, or Twitter! We'd love to hear from you! =)
