The beautiful season of fall brings the opportunity of catching scenic photos of ombreing foliage, rolling hills, foggy mornings, pumpkin patches, and many more amazing photos. If you’re a photographer who offers photoshoots for clients and families and who also creates prints, today we’re going to share with you some tips on how to get your clients to fall in love with your photography services this season.
1. Offer mini sessions to get clients to try your services
Allow your clients to "warm up to" your photography services by offering mini sessions. This is one easy way to gain new and hopefully loyal clients. On top of offering these mini sessions, you should showcase your work on social media and also through your website so that others can see the work that you do. You might offer clients three different types of fall photoshoots or scenes so that your mini sessions have variety. Clients can select a date and time via online scheduling and choose the type of photo shoot they desire. Here's what this might look like on the last screen of your web scheduler:
2. Try using on an online photo editor
If you create prints using text and various other graphics, try editing photos online using editors like Canva, Adobe Spark, or Pixlr. Get creative with your prints especially by adding fall festive graphics, overlays, and tweaking the tone. Here's an example of an image I've edited (not professional) using Canva:
3. If Adobe rocks for you, try foil & glitter overlays
If using the Adobe Suite is more of your style, try out foil and glitter overlays using Photoshop for your prints. These overlays are especially popular around the Holidays for cards. To purchase foil and glitter graphics for Photoshop, go to CreativeMarket.com and there you'll find plenty of awesome files to use. Here's a set of gold bokeh backgrounds which can be used on your prints:
To make these overlays stand out even more, calligraphy fonts are very popular nowadays. Here's a Pinterest pin with several you can try:
4. Run a contest & share on Facebook
Run a themed contest on Facebook to get followers to share their photos. You might consider themes like:
- "Leave it to the kids" - photos with kids playing in fall leaves
- "On the farm" - photos with farm animals
- "Cooking up something delicious" - photos showing homemade dishes or preparation of dishes
Choose a theme that your followers can connect with, and the winner(s) could schedule a free photo shoot with your business.
5. Offer a family special
And lastly, we know how many of us enjoy taking family photos for the fall and holiday season. Offer a family special to get clients interested in your photography by creating a coupon and letting your friends, followers, and clients know how they can apply this coupon by setting up an appointment with your business. Check out our tutorial for more on how to create coupons.
And those are just 5 ways to help get clients to fall in love with your photography. Can you think of other ideas that we didn't mention here? Let us know by sharing them in the comments box below. If this post had some awesome ideas you plan to try or want to share with a friend on social, retweet on Twitter or share on Facebook.
For now, happy creating!
